A community health assessment was conducted in Glynn County between August and November, 2013, to help aid in future public health planning efforts. Assessments were prepared using data from a variety of sources including public databases such as the Online Analytical Statistical Information System (OASIS), Georgia Department of Public Health; the Bureau of Labor Statistics; the U.S. Census Bureau, etc. as well as surveys and local focus groups.
The assessments have been compiled into a report that contains public data (county-level data from public sources); survey data (a 36-question survey was prepared and approved by the Coastal Health District and the college’s Institutional Review Board); and focus group data (highlights of the survey were shared with focus groups who commented on the information provided by respondents and made suggestions about community needs). All data were analyzed with trends and relationships between findings identified.
