Teens: Teen Clinics
The Adolescent Health and Youth Development program offers services to teens and their families. All AHYD services are guided with input from teens, parents, and community partners to ensure that teens have the resources they need to grow up healthy, educated, and prepared for a self-sufficient adulthood.
Teen services include
Preventive health services
Health education on various topics of teen interest
Youth development services
Parent education programs
Information and referral services
Open forums
Peer-to-peer counseling services
Teen awareness activities (i.e. conference, lock-ins, health fairs, etc.).
Health services also include
Physical Exams
Abstinence education
Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment
HIV/AIDS testing and counseling
Family planning
Pregnancy testing
Diet and nutrition counseling
Mentoring
Teen-specific preventive health services are offered in Chatham and Liberty Counties. However, teens are welcomed and serviced at any county public health offices. All other services are available upon request.
For teens, there are often no costs associated with services.
