Flu and Your School

Keep your classroom healthier this winter by following some easy tips:

·Good hand washing is absolutely critical. Teach your children and faculty to wash their hands with warm water and soap, lathering for at least 15 seconds (long enough to sing the "ABC's") before rinsing thoroughly and drying. When soap isn't available, alcohol-based hand cleansers are appropriate. Students should wash their hands before eating, after going to the bathroom, and anytime they are dirty.

·Germs can also spread when we cough or sneeze. Children should cover coughs and sneezes, and wash their hands after coughing, sneezing or blowing their noses. Don't forget to always throw away those used tissues!

·All students and staff need to be up-to-date on their immunizations.

·Children and Faculty who are sick and/or have a fever, should stay home and see a doctor if the symptoms are severe or persist for several days.
