Dental Services
The goal of the Coastal Health District dental program is to provide preventive dental care to children who have no other way of accessing dental services.

The Coastal Health District dental services program is an elementary school-based program that provides dental screenings, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants. In addition, the program supports the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) oral health education program.

The District dental program provides dental care to children of varying ages at area elementary schools. Children in kindergarten through third grade receive dental screening and fluoride treatments. Students in first through fifth grades receive dental screening, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants.

In addition, the School-Based Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program provides an effective dose of fluoride to children at-risk in the second and third grades. This is done with 12 weekly rinses administered by school nurses.
The WIC client Oral Health Education Program provides education on oral health techniques along with facts and guidance for children from newborn through grade school. In addition it covers safety, nutrition, and care for special needs children.
The WIC Oral Health Education Program occurs in WIC waiting rooms throughout the District.
