News: McIntosh County Health Department to Host Relay for Life Fundraiser on March 6
February 18, 2010 - The McIntosh County Health Department will hold a yard sale and rabies vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 6, at the Health Department on Highway 57 in Townsend. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event scheduled to be held at McIntosh County Academy on April 30.
Local veterinarian, Laura Bailey, will offer discounted rabies vaccinations at a cost of $5 for family pets. A yard sale will also be held and a variety of items will be available for sale.
"We invite McIntosh County residents to come out on Saturday, March 6, to support a great cause," said McIntosh County Health Department Nurse Manager, Paige Lightsey. "This is a wonderful opportunity to get your pet vaccinated against rabies for very little cost and maybe pick up a few needed items from our yard sale."
