Let's Dance, Savannah!

June 1, 2010 - Tired of the same, old exercise routine? It might be time to try dancing your way to a healthier lifestyle. That's why the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health and the Coastal Health District are sponsoring Let's Dance Savannah! from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 at Savannah Mall's Center Court.

This fun-filled day will feature free dance instruction by some of the area's premier dance groups. Click here to download the event lineup Let's Dance Savannah! 2010

Healthy snacks, blood pressure checks, BMI (body mass index) measurements, blood glucose testing and bone density scans will all be provided free of charge. Plus, "Keep the Beat" recipe books will be given away while supplies last and participants can also register to win an iPod Shuffle/iTunes gift card prize package.

Let's Dance Savannah! 2010 is also being sponsored by VIP Mobile Entertainment, the Community Cardiovascular Council, CVS, and Armstrong Atlantic State University Health Sciences.

According to the American Heart Association, nearly 500,000 women die each year of cardiovascular disease. But regular exercise (including dancing), a healthy diet, and controlling your blood pressure can greatly reduce your risk. So come on, Let's Dance Savannah!
