Kick Butts Day Events Scheduled

March 9, 2010 - The Coastal Health District is teaming up with Jacob G. Smith Elementary School in Savannah, Coastal Georgia YMCA and thousands of young people from around the world to stand out, speak up, and seize control against big tobacco. Kick Butts Day is a day of activism that empowers youth to take action against tobacco use.

More than 2,000 Kick Butts Day events are scheduled to take place from coast to coast. Students from Jacob G. Smith Elementary School and the YMCA Teen Achiever's Program will be participating in kickball games and other tobacco awareness activities.

Two events have been scheduled in Savannah. The first will take place at Jacob G. Smith Elementary school on Wednesday, March 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The second event will take place at Armstrong Atlantic State University's University Hall on Saturday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to noon.
