News: Health Department Lifts Flea Hill Boil Water Advisory

September 19, 2008
CAMDEN COUNTY, GA – The Camden County Health Department has lifted a boil water notice issued in late August for the Flea Hill area including Spring Hill Circle, Spring Hill Court, and Flea Hill Place.

The precautionary boil water notice was issued on August 29 as a result of flooding in the Flea Hill area. The community water system regulated by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has now been tested and is free of bacterial contamination.

Individual wells in the area may have been flooded and the Camden County Health Department cannot guarantee that these wells were not contaminated. In addition, yearly testing is recommended for all individual wells.

If you are concerned about your well, please contact the Camden County Health Department’s Environmental Health office at 912-729-6012 for information on well testing. The Environmental Health office provides screening tests for $100 and has a list of certified water testing labs in the area.
