New Tool for the Uninsured

puzzlesmall.jpgIf you don't have health insurance or your insurance is inadequate, it can be tough to figure out where to go for health care. Maybe you've heard of a few free or reduced-cost clinics, but which ones offer dental care? Where can you go for prenatal care, diabetes management or an eye exam?

Now, if you live in Chatham County, the search for a health care solution just got a bit easier with the launch of ChathamSafetyNet.org. This website provides a list of all the free or reduced-cost clinics in Chatham County, along with a list of services at each clinic, eligibility requirements, and even a map to take you right to the clinic's front door. The site also has a "frequently asked questions" section to further help you weigh your options, and a section with Spanish-language information.

The site was developed by the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, a collaboration of organizations working to improve access to health care for the uninsured. The Chatham County Health Department is a member of the council.

Visit the site. Tell your friends about it. No one should go without proper health care just because they can't afford health insurance. Let's help each other piece together the health care puzzle.
