Immunizations* help protect students of all ages against certain diseases which is why certain vaccinations are required before students can enter school. The Glynn County Health Department will hold a Back to School Round Up event from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, to make it convenient for parents to get children immunized and beat the back to school rush. Hearing, vision, dental, and nutrition screenings (required for any student entering a Georgia school for the first time) will also be available and the Vital Records office will be open for anyone who might need to get a copy of a birth certificate. Family fun activities will also take place during the Round Up.

No appointment is necessary. Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, State Employees Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Coresource-Aetna, Meritaine Health-Aetna (not SGHS), Cigna, Great West-Cigna, Coventry, Humana, United Healthcare, cash and credit cards accepted.

*Effective July 1, 2014, children born on or after January 1, 2002 who are attending seventh grade must have received one dose of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) and meningococcal (meningitis) immunizations prior to entering school.
