Emergency Preparedness

Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricane season lasts from June through November and experts agree there's a good possibility of several major storms developing during that time, any one of which could impact Georgia.

Residents throughout the Coastal Health District, including Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh counties, are encouraged to create a personal emergency preparedness plan that can be put into action should disaster strike. Georgia has been lucky when it comes to hurricanes but eventually, that luck will run out.

When it does, will you be ready?

We hope this information will be helpful for your planning efforts. For additional information planning for hurricanes and other disasters visit www.cdc.gov or www.fema.gov.
